#56 Alanis Morissette Got Nasty With Joey Gladstone.

Don’t change your contacts or adjust your glasses, you read that right. The song “You Oughta Know” by Alanis is all but confirmed to have been written in reference to her past relationship with Dave Coulier (the man who played Uncle Joey). Apparently, Dave was 15 years older than Alanis and wanted to start a family, but Alanis wasn’t reciprocating those feelings. As a result, the two broke up but apparently Dave got over it a little too quickly. Lyrics in the song say:
Did you forget about me Mr. Duplicity
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced
Are you thinking of me when you fu*k her?
Dave himself said in an interview that he believes those words are in reference to him. The lyrics that are most intriguing and are perhaps the only time I’ve ever considered Joey being near Uncle Jessie’s level of coolness are:
An older version of me
Is she perverted like me
Would she go down on you in a theatre
Yeah. That’s right. Joey was doing inappropriate things in the movie theater with Alanis Morissette. Like I said, this has been all but admitted by Alanis. But, trust me, I did plenty of research and it’s like 98% confirmed. Crazy, right? Probably the most shocking realization since #22.

  1. Ya know, I don’t think that I wanted to think about that!

  2. Great site! I realized a few of the facts above, but you really hit the nail on the head. We were the last generation not to have every last thing censored to the point of no return. I must say, I agree wholeheartedly that “The Beets” were and still are the #1 fictional band! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, awesome trip down memory lane. This is DA BOMB! ;)

  3. “Cut… it… out!”

Yeah, Jagged Little Pill was awesome.

  4. Gah! My brain just broke! Ow ow ow, mental imagery for the lose. I didn’t want to think about that.

  5. There’s an interview on http://www.kevinpollakschatshow.com wherein Dave goes into a bit more detail about the song and reference to him. Apparently it was confirmed by Alanis (via him.)

  8. Nice! I didn’t even know Kevin Pollack had a show. By the way 90’s guy, he isn’t their uncle, he’s a friend of Danny’s. Come on, 90’s Full House fans should know this.

  9. I think my parents or my sis had that alanis morisette cd and it was the bane of my childhood existence lol that and the Dave Mathews band cd crash or whatever it’s called. First exposure to bad music…feels bad man
